The Hellenic Air Force is one of the largest European operators of the F-16 fighter, and its machines appear regularly at the international gatherings of units with a big cat in their badge. For the 2016 edition one of the Greek aircraft was given a bold coat combining striped artwork with national motifs, and it became one of the most photographed machines of the whole event.
The sheet covers the whole special pattern, including the large areas on the fin, the national insignia and the accompanying lettering. With artwork this extensive it is crucial that it is printed in one pass with exact registration; otherwise the color layers would part company on the rounded sections of the airframe.
The hardest part is always the transition across the edge of the fin and across the air intakes. Cut yourself a strip of paper as a template beforehand, check on it where the element will land, and only then reach for the film itself. A dry trial run saves more nerves than any decal softener.
F-16 fighters have formed the backbone of the Hellenic Air Force for some time and have been through several upgrades that showed on the external appearance as well. If you are building from a particular photograph, check the shape of the dorsal fairing and the armament under the wings, because they differ between individual batches.
The extent of this item is in the upper part of the line, which with these special sets reflects the amount of print rather than the size of the box. The package holds a printed sheet; a kit is obtained separately.
