An injection-molded plastic kit from Amodel (Ukraine) in 1:72 scale. The assembled model is about 14 cm long. The package contains plastic sprues, decals and instructions; paints and glue are not included. It is a short-run kit.
The KhAI-1 was a Soviet airliner designed and built in Kharkiv in the early 1930s. It stood out for its aerodynamically clean design and was one of the first European airliners with retractable landing gear, which gave it exceptional speed for its day. The aircraft served with Aeroflot.
With a short-run kit, expect to clean off flash and to sand the mating surfaces. Glue with liquid cement for plastic, fill the seams and sand them down. Finish the cabin and cockpit interior before closing up the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush suits the smooth civil surfaces.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
