About product

Quickboost H2S radome for the Halifax (1:72)

A cast resin H2S radar cover (radome) from Quickboost for a plastic model of the British Handley Page Halifax four-engine bomber in 1:72 scale. The accessory lets you add the characteristic cover under the fuselage of the aircraft faithfully.

The real subject

The Handley Page Halifax was a British four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War. The H2S radar served to map the ground below the aircraft and improved both navigation and target finding; its antenna was housed under a cover on the underside of the fuselage.

Building tips

First wash the parts to remove any mold release residue, separate the casting blocks carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate), since plastic cement has no effect on resin. Sand resin with respiratory protection.

Who it is for

  • For modelers who want truer detail in place of the kit plastic part.
  • For builders with experience of small resin parts.
  • As a quick improvement to a particular model.

This is a resin accessory, not an aircraft model. The kit itself and glue are not included in the package.

FAQ

No. It is a stand-alone resin radar cover for a Halifax model in 1:72 scale, which has to be bought separately.

It was an airborne radar for mapping the ground below the aircraft; its antenna was housed under a cover on the underside of the fuselage.

Super glue (cyanoacrylate), because this is resin, on which plastic cement has no effect.
