The Handley Page Hampden was a British twin-engine medium bomber of the Second World War period, powered by a pair of Bristol Pegasus radial engines. The prototype flew in the second half of the 1930s and series production ran at the end of the 1930s and the beginning of the 1940s. Because of its weak defensive armament and heavy losses on daylight raids, the Hampden was gradually moved to night operations and to torpedo duties. The TB Mk.I version (torpedo bomber) served with Coastal Command for attacks on surface targets and carried an aerial torpedo.
With a short-run kit, first clean the flash off the parts and dry-fit them before gluing, as the joints often need local filling and sanding to come right. On a twin-engine aircraft, pay attention to the seating of the engine nacelles and the clear parts of the glazing. Liquid cement for plastic, a primer and spraying with an airbrush are recommended.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
