A precisely die-cut self-adhesive masking set of Japanese paper tape (kabuki) for a plastic model of the British twin-engine Handley Page Harrow Mk.II in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker New Ware. It is not a model or a paint but a set of masks for cleanly spraying the glazing and the details. The BASIC level holds masks for the glazing from the outside, for the wheels and for the other clear parts.
The Handley Page Harrow was a British twin-engine high-wing monoplane of the mid-1930s. It was originally created as a heavy bomber, but more modern types soon replaced it in front-line service and the Harrow found its use mainly as a transport and supply aircraft. The large glazed pilot's cockpit and the intricate glazing make masking a rewarding but laborious part of the build. The Mk.II was a later variant of the type.
The masks are cut from tape that conforms to the shape of the glazing and leaves no sticky traces once peeled off. Degrease and dry the surface before sticking them down, transfer the parts with tweezers and press them against the edges of the frames. Cover the remaining area of the glazing with scraps of tape or with liquid mask. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats and peel the masks off before the coat has dried completely, so that the edges stay crisp.
This is a self-adhesive masking set, not a model or paints. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
