Waterslide decals in 1:72 scale from the British manufacturer Xtradecal, focused on the B.2 version of the Handley Page Victor. The sheet is an accessory for a model you already have built and painted: in itself it contains no plastic or other parts. The particular machines and their markings are given by the manufacturer on the packaging and in the instructions; compare them with your intention before buying.
The Victor B.2 was the later bomber version of the British four-engined jet with its pronounced crescent wing. Against the first batch it was given more powerful engines and a series of airframe changes that increased both ceiling and range. The aircraft served with the Royal Air Force and some of the machines were later converted into aerial tankers. The finishes changed markedly during service, from light anti-flash schemes to darker camouflage for flight at low level, which is one of the reasons modelers return to the type with different markings.
With a large bomber it pays to keep to the right order of work. First finish the base coat and let it cure, then go over it with a clear gloss varnish and only onto that apply the decals. Once the decals are dry, a second coat of clear varnish follows, which seals them and levels the edge of the film with its surroundings. Do the weathering, that is the emphasizing of panel lines, the dust effects and the exhaust staining, only on this coat; otherwise you would damage the decal itself with the wash or with abrasive. A final matte or semi-matte coat unifies the whole surface.
A decal sheet is not a kit. The model, paints, varnish and glue are not included in the package.
