The turned metal set 1:72 Handley Page Victor pitot tubes and refueling probe boom from MASTER replaces the thinnest plastic protrusions on the nose of a model. It is an accessory to a finished kit, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds turned metal replacements for the pitot tubes and for the boom used to refuel in flight, intended for a model of the British Handley Page Victor bomber in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail accessory; the base model is obtained separately. The manufacturer is the Polish brand MASTER, which specializes in turned metal parts for plastic modelers.
The pitot tube and the refueling boom are among the most exposed parts of the nose. In injection-molded plastic they come out as very thin rods: they bend while being taken off the sprue, they break off while the fuselage seam is sanded, and once glued on they rarely hold a straight axis. A turned metal part is straight, concentric and survives handling as well as masking. The tube also has a genuine bore, which on a plastic part has to be laboriously drilled.
Cut off the plastic original at the root, redrill the hole to the diameter of the pin of the metal part and try the fit dry first. Bond with a tiny drop of super glue, or with slow-setting epoxy, which gives time to align the axis. Degrease the metal before painting and use a primer meant for metal, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. A subtle steel or graphite finish looks more faithful than flat black. Fit the part as late as possible, ideally after varnishing and decals, so that it does not get in the way of further work.
This is an accessory to a model, not a standalone kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
