This is not an aircraft kit but a resin supplementary set of landing gear wheels for a model of the British strategic bomber Handley-Page Victor in 1:72 scale. The wheels have a faithfully rendered tread and so-called weighted tires, that is a slight flattening where they touch the ground, which makes the model look as though it really stood on a runway.

The real subject

The Handley-Page Victor was one of the three British so-called V-bombers of the Cold War period. Its characteristic crescent wing gave it a high speed at great altitudes; later it also served as an aerial tanker for refueling in flight.

Use

• Separate the parts carefully from the casting blocks and wash the mold release agent residue off.
• Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate); the contact area is small.
• Compare the seating in the landing gear forks of the model before gluing.
• Fit the weighted tires so that the flattening points straight down toward the ground.
