A plastic kit of the light two-seat British Hawker Cygnet aircraft in 1:72 scale in the form with the Bristol Cherub III engine. The maker is the brand Avis. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Individual releases of the same type are told apart by the power unit used, so when ordering watch the designation of the engine in the name.
The Hawker Cygnet was a very light two-seat sporting aircraft of the mid-1920s, designed for the light aircraft competitions of the day. It relied on a wooden frame with fabric covering, on exceptionally low weight and on a tiny engine whose modest output had to suffice. Only a few were built and in service they went through several power units, so they differ from one another in the shape of the nose, the engine cowling and the details of the exhaust. The Bristol Cherub III was a flat twin intended for precisely this class of machine.
The model has a small number of parts, but in 1:72 scale the struts and bracing are very small. Try the parts dry first and reckon with cleaning up flash and with sanding the mating surfaces. Glue with thin cement for plastic applied with a small brush and seat the struts gradually, not all at once. Spray a base coat before painting, on which imperfections in a fine structure show up well. An airbrush at low pressure gives a better result on a model this small than a spray can. Rigging wires, if you want to add them, are run right at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
