Decals in 1:72 scale for the British Hawker Hurricane fighter. The sheet offers eleven color schemes, from Belgian machines of 1940 to a captured aircraft in Burma.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hurricane is remembered mainly as a machine of the Battle of Britain, but its real career took it much further. It flew in Belgian colors before the country fell, served with Soviet regiments in the north around Murmansk, covered convoys in the Mediterranean and fought in the desert, in India and over Burma. It is exactly this scattered service that the set of eleven schemes on a single sheet follows.
The selection is unusually varied. You will find a Belgian machine of 1940 and a tropical aircraft delivered to the Soviet Union and flown to the Murmansk area in the autumn of 1941, including the well-known all-black machine intended for a night unit. Nor is there any lack of a Romanian aircraft from the summer of 1941, Indian machines at Imphal and in Assam, an aircraft of the Yugoslav squadron of the Royal Air Force in Libya in 1944, an Egyptian Hurricane, a Finnish machine with yellow recognition bands, an aircraft of the Free French in North Africa and a captured example in Japanese colors.
The decals are applied in the classic way: cut them out, dip them in lukewarm water and, once they release, slide them onto a gloss clear coat. A decal softener will settle the marking into the rivets and panel lines, and once it is dry a matte coat follows, which hides the edges of the film.
The kit of the aircraft is supplied separately; the sheet covers the markings and the national insignia.
Before you start it pays to cut the sheet up into individual markings and keep them in the order in which they will go onto the model. With eleven variants it is easy to make a mistake, especially with the serial numbers, which differ between the individual machines only in the last characters. The remaining schemes stay usable for another build.
