An injection-molded plastic kit of the Heinkel He 162 jet aircraft in the C version in 1:72 scale, released in a boxing with the schemes of foreign users. It is released by AZ model, a Czech maker specializing in the less usual and projected versions of aircraft. The model is built and painted with ordinary modeling methods.
The basis is the structurally simple single-seat He 162 jet fighter with its engine mounted on top of the fuselage behind the cockpit. The C version is among the late designs still under development, for which a swept wing and reworked tail surfaces were planned. This version reached neither series production nor service, so it is a project that stayed on paper. The boxing with the schemes of foreign users therefore works with hypothetical color variants, which is a popular genre in modeling for aircraft that never got their chance.
Build and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage up. On a small model in 1:72 it pays to mask the canopy and spray on a filler primer, because it is the primer that shows the seams left by gluing. The transition of the wing into the fuselage and the area around the engine nacelle are the two places most often sanded and, where necessary, filled. Lay the decals onto a gloss base and, once dry, unify with an overcoat of the sheen you want. Because this is a projected aircraft, you have great freedom over the color scheme and the model suits an unconventional treatment as well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
