Seven finishes of the He 51 biplane on one 1:72 sheet, from the Spanish sky to Central European airfields.
Responsibility details are not available.
The He 51 was developed from an earlier type by the same company and entered service as the first fighter of the newly formed Luftwaffe. A floatplane variant and a ground-attack version for supporting ground troops were also built. Spain showed that a biplane was no longer a match for modern monoplanes, so the machines moved to attacking ground targets and later to training units, where they still served in the Second World War.
The choice runs from an A-1 version aircraft from Wien-Aspern airfield through machines of the Condor Legion in Spain between 1936 and 1938 to late examples from 1942. One of them stood in Zagreb and another in Prostejov, which is the most interesting subject on the whole sheet for Czech modelers. The subjects also include the machine in which the medical officer of a combat unit crashed on landing in December 1937, and an aircraft linked with a later commander of the fighter force.
In 1:72 scale the model is barely ten centimeters long, so the outcome is decided by the small details. The markings on the fin run across the rudder and have to be split with a scalpel, otherwise the moving surface will be locked. Rig the bracing wires at the very end and apply the markings on the upper wing before you join the upper surface to the struts.
A marking sheet without a kit and without paints. The model is obtained separately. It is worth noting that the seven subjects cover three different periods of the type, so a single bag allows the whole development line to be built, from service with fighter units to the late assignment to rear-area duties.
