A kit of the light tank Hotchkiss H35 in 1:72 scale, in plastic, for assembly and painting. A machine of the French army of 1940.
Responsibility details are not available.
The light tank Hotchkiss H35 was one of the most numerous French armored vehicles of the Second World War. It came about in the middle of the 1930s, and its hull and turret were made of cast parts joined by bolts, which gave it the round outlines that are not seen on the German or British machines of the time. Inside, however, the crew was only two: a driver and a commander, who loaded and fired in the turret at the same time. The armor stood comparison with its opponent, but the armament of a short gun of 37 mm caliber and a machine gun was no longer enough against well armored targets in 1940. Captured machines then served the German army for a long time away from the main battlefields.
A complete plastic kit in 1:72 scale. You assemble and paint the parts yourself; a finished model does not come out of the box. The scope of the set and the recommended order of the steps are described in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
The small scale forgives little: separate the parts a little way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the rest down, otherwise a stub will show on the outline. Glue the assembly with cement for plastic models and wash and degrease the surface before painting. On a tank of this type it pays to concentrate on the running gear and on the underside of the hull, where the most deposit from the ground collects; dust wiped on in the shade of the scene's ground will tie the model to its base better than any accessory.
For modelers who collect the hardware of 1940 in a uniform 1:72 scale and for builders of smaller dioramas. Paints, glue and accessory sets are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
