An extensive set of shaped stickers for the glazing of the British four-engine heavy bomber in 1:72 scale. Cut to the frames, to be applied from outside.
Responsibility details are not available.
The four-engine Handley Page Halifax first flew in the autumn of 1939 and throughout the war it carried the main weight of the night campaign together with its more famous contemporary. In the statistics it stays in the shadow, but its crews had a better chance of leaving a burning machine, and that is a figure no table of performance holds. Besides raids it also carried out tasks other types were unsuited to: it carried supplies to resistance groups, served with Coastal Command and towed heavy gliders. The last examples flew out their lives in research roles long after 1945.
The glazing of the Halifax is truly divided. Besides the pilots' cockpit it includes the navigator's glazed nose and the rotating gun turrets, that is an area masking by hand takes a whole evening over. Pre-cut shapes shorten that work to a fraction. The 1:72 target is the model by the brand Revell. The outside of the glazed areas is covered, which on such a large kit means a noticeable saving of time and of tape. The inner side can be closed with paper or putty depending on how many details inside the fuselage you plan to show.
The rotating turrets have glazing made up of many narrow fields and they tend to call for patience; work from the bottom up, so that the last parts do not have to be pushed under neighbors already applied. Lead the paint in thin coats and let the model rest between them. Remove it shortly after drying. The model, paints and glue are not in the package.
