An add-on engine set for a model of the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I fighter in 1:72 scale. Intended for a build with the engine bay exposed.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Hurricane Mk.I was the British fighter with which the Royal Air Force entered the Second World War. In the Battle of Britain it made up a larger part of the fighter defense than the more famous Spitfire, simply because there were more squadrons of it. It was powered by a liquid-cooled Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 housed in the front of the fuselage under removable cowling panels.
A powerplant set for a model in 1:72 scale. It makes sense on a build with the engine bay exposed, whether you remove only a side panel or leave the whole nose open; under closed panels nothing of the work would be visible. Before you start gluing, dry fit the parts into the fuselage and check how much room is left and how the panels will sit once opened.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry; on a degreased surface both paint and glue hold far better. Cut the excess material and production marks off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down carefully. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; with add-on sets cyanoacrylate has proved itself. Paint and shade the engine before you seat it in the fuselage; a darker shade in the shadows and a dry brush on the edges make the engine block a legible thing. The ignition harness and the hoses can be added with thin wire from reference.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
