Precisely cast resin gunsights for the cockpit of the Soviet Polikarpov I-153 Chaika biplane in 1:72 scale. It is an aftermarket detail part that replaces the simplified plastic gunsight from the base kit and refines the look of the cockpit. It is not a stand-alone airplane model, but an accessory.
The Polikarpov I-153 Chaika was a Soviet single-seat fighter biplane with a gull-shaped upper wing, retractable landing gear and a radial engine. It was deployed among other places in the fighting at Khalkhin Gol and in the opening phases of the war on the Eastern Front. The gunsight is clearly visible with an open cockpit, which is why a detail part pays off.
Resin parts call for more careful work than plastic: first wash them free of mold release residue, separate them carefully from the casting block and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Separate the small gunsight very carefully, as it is fragile. Protect your airways while sanding. Apply a primer before painting.
