A set of resin exhausts for the Soviet Polikarpov I-153 Chaika biplane fighter in 1:72 scale. It is an aftermarket detail part with finely suggested mouths that will replace the flat or blanked-off plastic exhausts from the base kit, not an airplane model.
The Polikarpov I-153 Chaika was a Soviet biplane fighter of the late 1930s with a gull-shaped upper wing and retractable landing gear. It was powered by a Shvetsov M-62 radial engine whose exhaust outlets projected around the rim of the engine cowling. The aircraft was used in the fighting at Khalkhin Gol and in the first years of the Second World War.
Resin parts call for more careful work than plastic: first wash them to remove mold release residue, separate them carefully from the casting block (the gate) and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding and cutting small parts. Apply a primer before painting. The exhausts come out once painted in dark metallic and rust shades; check how they are spaced around the rim of the cowling dry before gluing.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
