1:72 I.A.R. IAR.80 – a full Eduard photo-etched set for the Romanian fighter in a small scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The item completes a finished plastic model; on its own it does not make an aircraft. This is the full photo-etched version for 1:72, so its scope is wider than that of the narrower variant. Anyone building a small scale and wanting to see fine structure in it reaches for metal, which can be made in thicknesses beyond the reach of injected plastic.
The IAR.80 was developed by Industria Aeronautica Romana in Bucharest at the end of the 1930s. A cantilever low-wing aircraft with a radial engine and retractable landing gear, it went into production and became the most important combat aircraft of the Romanian Air Force in the Second World War. It was deployed on the Eastern Front and in the defense of its home territory.
Photo-etched parts in 1:72 really are tiny, so put a light mat over your work surface and turn off any extraction. Separate the parts by pressing with a blade, not by twisting, otherwise they bend. Dose the glue so that it does not run over the edge of the metal onto the surrounding plastic, where it would leave a shiny patch once dry.
This item does not contain the aircraft kit or any painting materials.
