Hobby Boss IDF Merkava Mk.IIID (LIC) 1:72 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the Israeli main battle tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Israeli Merkava Mk.IIID main battle tank in the LIC version in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. It is a compact model with a manageable number of parts, one-piece tracks molded partly together with the wheels, and two decal options. The smaller scale and the lower part count make the model a rewarding and quick build.
The Merkava is an Israeli main battle tank whose development began in 1973 and which entered service in 1978. The front-mounted engine and the turret set well back are typical, which raises the protection of the crew against a frontal hit. The Mk.IIID in the LIC version, for low-intensity conflict, is adapted to fighting in built-up areas: sensitive spots such as the optics, the exhausts and the fans are covered by metal mesh, and a remotely operated weapon station and a rear camera are added.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic; the one-piece tracks make assembling the running gear easier. Finish the running gear before closing the hull. A primer and an airbrush in a uniform Israeli sand shade (Sinai Grey) are advisable; bring the surface to life with a fine wash into the recesses and light pigments for dust on the lower hull. In a small scale keep the patina restrained.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
