The Japanese M30-32 helmet in 1:72 scale is a small accessory for figures and dioramas from the Pacific and Asian theaters, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small accessory for 1:72 figures, meant for replacing or filling out headgear and for bringing a scene to life. It suits building a group of figures that need a uniform and correctly shaped helmet, or adding equipment set down to a diorama. It is not a kit of an aircraft or a vehicle and it does not come with a figure. The manufacturer makes the pattern in other scales as well, and besides this variant there is also a version marked detail, so choose by the exact wording of the name.
The Japanese steel helmet used by the armed forces in the 1930s and 1940s is among the best recognized items of headgear of the Second World War. It has a shallow, fairly round bowl with a short edge and a lower weight than European patterns of that time. In period photographs it appears with a cloth cover, with a camouflage net and with a tied cloth band; in units fighting in the tropics it commonly alternated with a cloth field cap and a tropical helmet. In modeling practice it is a detail that anyone interested in this theater will notice.
Separate the part from the casting block with a sharp scalpel, clean up the parting line with a fine file and wash it in warm water with detergent before painting. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Lay the base on thinly, so that the edge of the bowl stays legible; a matte green khaki shade suits it, and a darker wash and fine drybrushing of the edges sit well over that. Anyone who wants to go further can give the helmet a worn look with a light rub of pigments round the rim.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a figure. Paints, glue and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
