The Type 16 MCV in 1:72 scale — a plastic kit of the modern Japanese wheeled combat vehicle with a 105 mm gun from the manufacturer Aoshima.
Responsibility details are not available.
This plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima captures the Type 16 MCV, a modern wheeled combat vehicle of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF). The 1:72 scale gives a compact model that fits any display case and looks excellent next to aircraft of the same scale.
The Type 16 MCV (Maneuver Combat Vehicle) is a Japanese armored vehicle with an 8x8 wheel arrangement, taken into service in 2016. Its main armament is a 105 mm gun in a turret with a modern fire control system. The concept is built around strategic mobility: the vehicle moves quickly along the road network under its own power and its weight allows air transport as well, so it can respond flexibly to the defense of the Japanese islands. Its firepower comes close to a tank, while in mobility it clearly surpasses one.
Before closing up the hull, check that the axles are seated so the vehicle stands on all eight wheels. Paint the tires dark gray rather than pure black, which looks more natural. Japanese equipment wears a characteristic two-tone green and brown camouflage, and the transitions can be sprayed through a mask or brushed. A dark wash in the recesses and around the hatches brings out the detail, and a little dust pigment on the wheel arches and the underside of the hull gives the vehicle a used look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
