This item is not a kit of an aircraft but an accessory. It holds resin parts of the JP233 external dispensers in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Eduard, based in Obrnice near Most. The set is intended for modelers who want to replace simplified plastic armament on a model under construction or finished with more accurate resin parts with crisper detail. Before buying, check that the set suits the kit you are building in size and shape, as the hardpoints and pylons differ between individual molds.
The JP233 was a British external dispenser system developed for disrupting the operation of airfields. It was carried above all by the Panavia Tornado GR.1 in a pair under the fuselage; the system was designed for a low pass over the target. It was used in combat in 1991 in the Persian Gulf and in the following years was withdrawn from service in connection with international commitments on mines. For a modeler it is a prominent and easily recognizable store that gives a Tornado model an unambiguous place in time.
First wash the resin parts in warm water with detergent: mold release agent residue otherwise stops the paint from adhering. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a snap-off knife, and never break them off. Do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection, as resin dust is unpleasant. It is glued with cyanoacrylate; cement for plastic does not work on resin. Before painting apply a thin coat of primer, so that the surfaces of resin and plastic are evened out. The detail comes out after a local wash and a fine accenting of the edges with a dry brush.
This is an add-on set, not a model of an aircraft. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
