This is a pre-painted photo-etched instrument panel set in 1:72 scale from Yahu Models. It is not an aircraft kit but a finished color cockpit accessory that replaces the plastic instrument panel from the box. The panel is built up from several laminated photo-etched layers into a three-dimensional relief, and the dial faces are painted at the factory and coated with a gloss varnish that imitates the cover glass of the instruments. The set is intended for the plastic Ju 88C-6 model from Revell.
It replaces the flat plastic instrument panel and gives the glazed cockpit of the Junkers fine, faithful detail without laborious painting of instruments. The panel is degreased, shaped a little if needed, and bonded with super glue.
The Junkers Ju 88 was a German twin-engine multi-purpose aircraft of the Second World War. The C-6 version was a heavy and night fighter conversion with a solid nose fitted with gun armament, deployed against bombers and as an intruder. The Ju 88 was among the most versatile machines of the Luftwaffe.
