An injection-molded plastic kit of the anti-tank version of the famous Stuka, the Junkers Ju-87G-1, in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The real subject

The Ju-87G was the anti-tank derivative of the Ju-87 dive bomber. The G-1 version was created by converting airframes of the earlier D form and received a pair of 37mm cannons in pods under the wings, effective against Soviet tanks. The Luftwaffe used the machines above all on the Eastern Front from 1943. Unlike the classic Stuka, the G was no longer intended for dive bombing but for accurate fire against armored vehicles, which made it a feared tank hunter.

Building and painting tips

Clean the parts of their sprue stubs and paint the cockpit before you close up the fuselage. Apply a primer to the plastic and only then the base color — a combination of dark green upper camouflage and a light underside typical of the Eastern Front is a good choice. The underwing cannons and the landing gear are small and fragile, so glue them carefully. Bring out the engraved detail with a dark wash, apply the decals over a gloss clear coat and then flatten the surface. A winter overspray or a muddy landing gear will give the model an authentic battlefield atmosphere.
