A set of resin gun barrels for the German Junkers Ju 88G night fighter in 1:72 scale from Quickboost. It is not an airplane model but a set of precisely cast detail parts that replace the thicker plastic barrels from the base kit with slimmer and sharper castings.
The Ju 88G was the night fighter version of the versatile German Junkers Ju 88, fitted with radar and heavy gun armament. Besides the upward-firing cannons known as Schrage Musik it carried fixed armament in the nose and a defensive gun in the rear cockpit. In small scales the barrels tend to be coarse and easily damaged; the resin replacements are more slender, have clean shapes and can be finished with a drilled-out muzzle for maximum fidelity.
Resin parts need more careful preparation: wash them in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue, carefully separate them from the casting block and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways while sanding. Paint the barrels in a dark metal or blued steel, pick out the edges lightly with a dry brush and, if you like, suggest the muzzle with a darker dot.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
