This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale captures the Czechoslovak liaison and observation aircraft K-65 Cap, designated C-5 in military service. The model comes from the Czech manufacturer AZ model.
The K-65 Cap came from licensed and postwar home production following on from the German Fieseler Fi 156 Storch liaison aircraft. It was marked by excellent slow-flying qualities, an extremely short takeoff and landing run and a good view from the glazed cabin. In Czechoslovak service it was used for observation, liaison, training and civil tasks. The high-wing monoplane with fixed landing gear and characteristic struts was easy to recognize.
With the glazed cabin it pays to mask the frames carefully. Fit the struts and the fixed landing gear with an eye on the correct geometry. For a faithful look the period Czechoslovak shades suit well, with light weathering to bring out the engraving and the fabric-covered areas.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
