Pre-cut self-adhesive masks for a model in 1:72 scale, intended to cover the canopy glazing while the frames are sprayed. It is not a model of the aircraft but an aid for painting that replaces slow masking with tape.
The Kawanishi E15K Shiun was a Japanese reconnaissance floatplane of the Second World War, intended for operation from surface vessels. Only a small number were built. Like most reconnaissance machines it had a multi-seat cockpit with a long glazed canopy, which from a modeler's point of view is the most demanding part of painting, because it holds a row of panes and frames of different sizes.
On a long canopy the risk grows that one of the masks will come loose during the work. The film holds better at room temperature; in a cold workshop it hardens and follows a curve less well. So let the model come up to temperature before masking. Apply the masks one after another and keep checking the ones already applied, because the edges lift easily as the model is handled. Spray only some time after applying, not straight away, so that the adhesive has a chance to grip over the whole area.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
