The injection-molded plastic kit Kawanishi H8K2 Emily in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Hasegawa — a large Japanese flying boat of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese four-engine flying boat Kawanishi H8K2, known among the Allies under the code name Emily, in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Hasegawa. This is a large model with rich surface detail and clear glazing parts. Given the size of the fuselage and of the wings, the build naturally falls into larger subassemblies that are completed one after another.
The Kawanishi H8K was a Japanese heavy seaplane, a flying boat of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service powered by four radial engines. It stood out for its long range, its robust structure and its strong defensive armament, which made it one of the best machines of its category in the Second World War. The H8K2 version was the most widespread and the most powerful variant, deployed for long-range maritime reconnaissance, for patrols over the Pacific and for transport duties.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies: finish the interior of the fuselage and paint it before closing it up. The extensive glazing of the pilot compartment and of the gun positions deserves masking of the frames; that saves a great deal of touching up. Apply a primer before painting and apply the paints with an airbrush. On a model of this size, count on filling and sanding the joints of the large parts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
