Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of a biplane reconnaissance aircraft in 1:72 scale. The model captures the Japanese licensed version of the French Salmson 2 A.2, which the Kawasaki company built under the designation Kawasaki Otsu-1. The box holds plastic parts on sprues and a small decal sheet; the kit is meant to be glued together and painted.
The Salmson 2 A.2 was a French two-seat reconnaissance and observation biplane brought into service during the First World War. It was powered by a water-cooled Salmson radial engine and proved itself in tactical reconnaissance. The type was used by a number of air arms including the French, American, Polish and Czechoslovak ones; Japan built the aircraft under license as the Kawasaki Otsu-1 and operated it between the wars as a reconnaissance and training machine.
On a biplane, pay attention to seating the struts correctly and tensioning the bracing wires between the wings. Glue the joints with thin cement for plastic and lay down a primer before painting. We recommend an airbrush for even coverage of the large fabric surfaces and careful cleanup of the moldings. Apply the decals over gloss varnish and fix them with a matte coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
