The set of masks 1:72 Ki-44 Shoki Nat. Ins. w/ white outline from the Dead Design brand is for spraying national insignia with a white border onto a model of the Japanese interceptor.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set from Dead Design meant for spraying the Japanese national insignia onto a model of the Nakajima Ki-44 Shoki in 1:72 scale. The name specifies the rendition with a white border. The package holds masking, not the plastic parts of the aircraft.
The Ki-44 was created as the opposite of the Japanese school of agile fighters of the time. Nakajima designed it around a powerful radial engine with the emphasis on climb and speed, which called for a small wing and a high landing speed: pilots used to light types had to get used to it. That is exactly why it proved itself in the defense of Japanese airspace, where a fast climb to the bombers was what was needed. Home defense machines in dark camouflage were usually marked with an insignia with a white outline, so that the disc would be clear.
Check the symmetry of the discs on the model before you press a mask down for good. Measure the distance from the wingtip and from the leading edge on both halves and mark it in pencil; in this scale the eye reliably picks up a deviation of one millimeter, especially when looking down from above. On the fuselage go by the panel joints, not by an estimate from the cockpit.
