A shaped masking set for a model of the Mitsubishi Ki-46-III KAI Dinah in 1:72 scale. The elements are applied to the model before spraying and lifted once the paint has dried.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mitsubishi Ki-46 was a twin-engine Japanese aircraft of the Second World War period that became famous above all as a fast reconnaissance machine; the Allies gave it the name Dinah. The Ki-46-III KAI version arose from a conversion for interception duties against high-flying bombers and received heavier cannon armament including an obliquely upward-firing gun.
A masking set in 1:72 scale, shaped to this particular type. The individual elements are peeled off the backing sheet and applied directly to the model, so cutting tape and laying it laboriously onto curved glazing falls away. The range of the masks, that is, whether they cover only the glazing or other areas as well, is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The masks belong on the model before spraying, not on paint that has already dried. Wash and degrease the surface first, so that the mask holds and paint does not run under the edge.
You will appreciate it if you want the transition between a clear part and a sprayed area straight and sharp and do not want to be held up by masking by hand. This is an accessory to a model: the kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
