Colored three-dimensional interior parts in 1:72 scale for the Japanese Ki-61 fighter, cut for the Tamiya kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Ki-61 was a Japanese fighter of the Second World War, unmistakable among the Japanese aircraft of the day for its slim fuselage and sharp nose. That is exactly why Allied crews at first mistook it for a machine of European origin. It carried the name Hien and fought in the Pacific theater as well as over the Japanese islands. In 1:72 scale the cockpit is small, and the small instruments in it are that much harder to color in with a brush.
These are colored three-dimensional interior parts in 1:72 scale, cut for the Ki-61 kit from Tamiya. The parts have raised relief, so the rendering of the instrument panel and the side surfaces is not merely a printed surface but has depth as well. They save the work that painting the finest detail would otherwise take at this scale, and the result is more legible than an attempt at the same by hand.
The base must be clean, degreased and free of surplus material, otherwise a part will not seat. The application procedure differs between individual sets, so go by the manufacturer's instructions before work, as they also give the way the parts are fixed. Work with fine-tipped tweezers, lay a part down from one edge so that no air is trapped under it, and try each piece dry beforehand. Settle everything in before you close the cockpit with the glazing.
For builders of Japanese fighters in small scales who want the cockpit finished quickly and yet legible. A kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
