An add-on armament set for a model of the Japanese Ki-84 Hayate fighter in 1:72 scale, intended for Arma Hobby kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate was a Japanese fighter of the closing stages of the Second World War, powered by a radial engine. For its day it combined decent speed, climb and armor protection and was among the best machines the Japanese Army Air Force put into service. Its reputation was undermined, however, by falling production quality and a shortage of fuel. On the most widespread version the armament consisted of two 20 mm cannon in the wings and two machine guns in the nose of the fuselage.
The set completes a Ki-84 model in 1:72 scale with armament parts and is listed for kits from the Arma Hobby company. Replacement gun barrels and muzzles are a small thing that draws the eye surprisingly on a finished model, because this is exactly where the plastic part tends to be at its thickest and bluntest. Which parts the set contains, and in what order they are fitted, is stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene, so bond them with super glue. Cut any excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder. Put the thin parts in a tray so that they do not get lost, and try them dry: on wing guns it shows at a glance when one side sticks out differently from the other. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. The metal look of the barrels comes out well over a dark base with light polishing with graphite or a metallic pigment.
The add-on set alone is supplied. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
