A sheet of decals in 1:72 scale with the markings of M46 Patton tanks of the United States Marine Corps from the Korean War. The third part of the Korean series.
Responsibility details are not available.
The M46 Patton came into being by rebuilding the older Pershing. The hull and the turret stayed in broad outline as they were, but the machine was given a new engine and transmission, which set its weak performance and reliability right. You will recognize the 90mm gun by the bore evacuator on the barrel and by the muzzle brake, which is the quickest guide to telling the M46 from the Pershing on a model. In Korea these tanks were among the hardware of the tank units of the Marine Corps.
This set is the third part of the series on the Korean War and is devoted to the M46 machines with the Marine Corps. The designs are printed for 1:72 scale.
The decals are transferred in the wet way. Trim the design off tight to the print, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it releases from the backing paper. Prepare the base with gloss varnish, so that no air settles under the film. In busy places a softener and pressure from a soft cloth help; the whole model is finally evened out with a matte varnish.
The sheet suits modelers of postwar American hardware who want to tie a model to a particular battlefield and to avoid the ordinary army markings. The sheet of decals is supplied on its own; the model, the paints and the glue do not belong with it, unless stated otherwise.
