A set of resin pitot tubes for the Czechoslovak Aero L-29 Delfin jet trainer in 1:72 scale from Quickboost. It is not an airplane model but precisely cast detail parts that replace the coarser or fragile pitots from the base kit with a truer and more delicate rendering.
The L-29 Delfin was the first jet aircraft of Czechoslovak design to be produced in Czechoslovakia, and it became the standard trainer of the armed forces of the Eastern Bloc; it was powered by a Motorlet M-701 engine. A pitot tube senses the pressure of the oncoming air for airspeed measurement, and it is a thin protruding item that often comes out too thick in plastic or breaks off easily. The resin castings have a faithful shape and a crisp tip.
Resin parts call for more careful preparation: wash them in lukewarm soapy water to remove any release residue, separate them carefully from the casting block and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways when sanding. Attach the delicate pitot only at the very end of the build, so that it does not get damaged while handling, and paint it after the pattern of the real aircraft.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
