An injection-molded plastic model of the American eight-wheeled armored vehicle LAV-C2 in the command and control version, in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is a classic plastic kit for gluing and spraying. For the exact contents of the box (part count, decals) go by the enclosed instructions and the markings on the box.
The LAV is a family of eight-wheeled armored vehicles derived from the Swiss Piranha design, and in the US armed forces it serves with the Marine Corps. The LAV-C2 version (command and control) has a raised hull roof so as to take several radio sets in the VHF, UHF and HF bands, and it serves as a mobile command post. For self-defense it carries a 7.62 mm machine gun. The vehicle is amphibious and, thanks to its wheeled chassis, reaches high speeds on the road.
On an armored vehicle, finish the running gear and the chassis first and close the hull only afterwards - otherwise some places become unreachable. Spray the base over primer and apply the colors with an airbrush. Build the weathering with washes into the recesses and with pigments for dust and mud effects on the tires and the belly of the hull; drybrushing will pick out the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
