1:72 Leopard 2A6 is a photo-etched detail set from the manufacturer Hauler for refining a plastic model of the German tank Leopard 2A6. It is not a tank kit but an accessory for a model you have already bought. Target kit: Dragon.

The set contains parts etched from thin metal sheet that replace features which cannot be made at a realistic thickness in injection-molded plastic in 1:72 scale. Let us say right at the start: it is not a tank model but an accessory for the plastic kit of the Leopard 2A6, which has to be obtained separately. Metal holds sharp edges, allows genuinely thin sheet features to be made and once painted comes across more credibly than the corresponding plastic part. Working with photo-etch is delicate — tweezers, a sharp cutting surface and a calm mind pay off. The dimensions and shapes are based on the Dragon kit.
The Leopard 2A6 is a modernized version of the German main battle tank Leopard 2, introduced from the beginning of the 21st century. From the older versions it is distinguished at first glance by the extended barrel of the 120 mm gun and the wedge-shaped add-on armor on the front of the turret. The vehicle serves not only in the German army but also with a number of other European users, which opens up a wide choice of markings and camouflage schemes for modelers.
Cut the parts out of the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface; never tear them out. Precise bends are made by a photo-etch bender, but two razor blades or a steel ruler will also serve. It is glued with a small quantity of cyanoacrylate, and load-bearing parts can be soldered. Degrease the metal before painting and underlay it with a primer for metal, otherwise the finish chips off during handling. At the end a wash into the hollows and a dry brush on the edges come in handy.
This is a supplementary set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
