Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the twin-engined turboprop Let L-420, a late member of the Turbolet family, from the Kovozavody Prostejov brand. The model comes from a new mold that the maker prepared for the whole range of L-410 and L-420 machines, so the surface detail and the breakdown of the parts match today's standard. For Czech and Slovak modelers it is a home legend they still come across at small airfields.
The Turbolet was created at Kunovice as an undemanding transport aircraft for short routes and for operating from simple surfaces. It carries around nineteen passengers, has a high-set wing, rugged landing gear and a pair of turboprop engines. The L-420 version is a development step above the L-410UVP-E: it received a more powerful powerplant and changes that were to open the way to Western certification. Only a few were built, which makes it all the more interesting a subject.
The glazing gives the most work. There are many windows and the masking tape has to be cut precisely, otherwise the edges of the frames run away from you. The white base area calls for a perfectly sanded base and is applied in thin coats, so that it does not cover the engraved lines. The color stripes are cleaner sprayed through a mask than laid on from decals, because they cope better with the rounded fuselage. Leave the engine nacelles and the propellers until the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
