This injection-molded plastic kit from Trumpeter presents the modern American M1A2 Abrams main battle tank in 1:72 scale. The model captures the angular turret and hull with their pronounced flat surfaces, the long barrel of the main gun, detailed running gear and rubber tracks; decals for American markings are included.
The M1A2 Abrams is the upgraded version of the American M1 main battle tank. Compared with the older M1A1 it brings an independent commander's thermal viewer, a separate commander's weapon station, navigation equipment and more modern electronics. The Abrams is one of the most widely used main battle tanks of Western armies and is marked by strong armor protection and a powerful powerplant.
Assemble the running gear before the hull is closed up; fit the tracks only after the lower hull has been painted. A modern single-color or desert finish airbrushes well over a colored primer on the plastic; finish off with a fine wash into the recesses and light dust effects with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
