This plastic kit in 1:72 scale from UM represents the American M4A2 Sherman medium tank fitted with the M1 bulldozer blade. The package holds more than one hundred and forty plastic parts, a photo-etched set and a separate sprue with the blade and its mounting. The model offers a finely engraved surface and a detailed running gear.
The M4A2 was the version of the Sherman powered by a pair of diesel engines, supplied to the Allies in large numbers. The M1 bulldozer blade was mounted on the front of the tank and served to clear obstacles, work the ground and build positions. The blades were much in demand and often in short supply, so only some of the tanks were fitted with them.
Assemble the running gear and the tracks first, then the hull and the turret; add the blade and its arms at the end. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and the photo-etch with cyanoacrylate glue. Once the olive drab has been sprayed on, bring the model to life with washes, a dry brush and pigments; pick out the blade with bare-metal rubbing and a deposit of earth.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
