Zvezda Macedonian Phalanx IV - I B.C. (1:72) is a numerous plastic set of figures of the Macedonian phalanx, to be assembled and painted.
Responsibility details are not available.
This numerous plastic figure set from Zvezda in 1:72 scale represents the Macedonian phalanx of roughly the 4th to the 1st century before our era. It holds many figures in several poses, so it makes it possible to assemble a whole close formation of pikemen. It is a plastic kit intended to be assembled and painted, ideal for large battle scenes and wargaming.
The Macedonian phalanx was a close infantry formation armed with long pikes called the sarissa, which reached a length of up to about five meters. The system was developed by the Macedonian king Philip II, the father of Alexander the Great, and with its help Macedonian armies came to control a large part of the world of the day. The bristling wall of points was almost impenetrable from the front; in the end only the more flexible organization of the Roman legions managed to defeat the phalanx.
Cut the small parts and the long sarissas away carefully and clean up the mold lines; glue them with thin cement for plastic. Work the bronze helmets and shields up in metallic shades, and treat the tunics and cloaks in natural or bold colors according to the unit chosen. A primer will make painting with glazes and a wash easier on a large number of figures.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
