Decals in 1:72 scale for the two-seat version of the Il-2 ground-attack aircraft, designated M3. The name ranks it as the second part of the range; the individual parts are separate sheets and they cannot be interchanged. The set serves to finish a built model and contains no plastic or other structural parts.
The Il-2 was designed as a low-flying ground-attack aircraft with an armored forward fuselage, which protected the engine, the cooling system and the pilot. The two-seat conversion added a gunner's station with a flexible weapon behind the pilot and reworked the rear part of the canopy. The machine was built in large batches and the individual production runs differed in details of the airframe and the armament.
The foundation is a smooth glossy surface. Once the model is painted, apply gloss varnish, soak the decal in lukewarm water and let it rest until it will slide off the paper easily. Position it with a brush, draw the water off and use a softener across riveting and engraved lines. Once everything is dry, coat the model with a matte varnish, which conceals the edges of the carrier film.
The package contains decals; it is not a kit. The model, paints, varnishes and glue are not part of it.
