The New Ware 1:72 Mask B-57B/B-57G Nighthawk ADVANCED is a cut mask set in the middle, extended scope. Against the basic level it covers more areas, so you will reach for adhesive tape during the build only rarely.
Responsibility details are not available.
The middle of the three levels in which New Ware offers its masks for this machine. The word ADVANCED does not describe the difficulty but the scope: the set goes beyond the basic BASIC variant and masks more than just the main glazing. The widest coverage then belongs to the EXPERT level. The choice is therefore simple: the more you want cut in advance and the less adhesive tape you want to cut, the higher the level you should pick.
The B-57 line came about as the American license-built version of the British Canberra jet bomber. The B-57B version differs from the British original in the layout of the cockpit, with the seats in tandem under a long canopy; the later B-57G was adapted for night operations and received a suite of sensors in the nose. The slender wing of large span and two engines in nacelles make this machine a striking model even reduced to 1:72.
With masks it is the first coat that decides. Spray a thin covering coat of paint, let it go off and only then build the shade up. That way the paint does not run under the edge and the edge stays sharp. Hold the airbrush as nearly perpendicular to the surface as you can; at a sharp angle the paint is blown in under the mask. Before you take the mask off, run the tip of a knife dry along the edge, so that any film of paint comes away with the mask and not with the finish underneath.
The set is tailored to one specific Italeri kit. It is not a model or a kit, and paints are not included in the package.
