BASIC masking set for the F-102A Delta Dagger in 1:72 scale (New Ware)

A basic masking set from the manufacturer New Ware for the kit of the American interceptor F-102A Delta Dagger of the Meng brand in 1:72 scale. This is not a model but an accessory of precisely cut kabuki tape. The BASIC extent aims at the areas that are masked most often: the canopy with its fine frames and the landing gear wheels.

Why masks in a small scale too

The F-102A Delta Dagger was an American interceptor with a delta wing of the fifties, built for air defense. In 1:72 scale the frames of the canopy are often only fractions of a millimeter thick — precise edges are hard to achieve by outlining by hand even for experienced modelers. A cut template defines the edge by itself: lay it on, press it down, spray. And thanks to a mask for the hub you will spray the wheels without laborious circling with a brush.

Use

• lift the small templates off the sheet with pointed tweezers
• degrease the clear parts before laying them on, and press the edges of the masks down carefully
• spray the frames first with the interior color, then with the exterior shade
• lift the masks off with a slow pull once the paint has dried

The set holds painting masks only. The base Meng kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
