The real subject

The F-15C Eagle is a single-seat fighter meant for the fight for air superiority. You will recognize it at first glance: the massive fuselage with two engines side by side, two vertical tails and sizeable wings, thanks to which the aircraft turns in a tight arc even at high altitude. The C version is single-seat, so the cockpit has one seat and one canopy. A model of this aircraft is around twenty centimeters long in 1:72 scale and its surface offers plenty of room for the fine details that cannot be made from molded plastic.

What the set contains

This is a set of photo-etched metal parts. Photo-etch is made by etching thin sheet away, so the parts come out noticeably finer than the plastic parts of the kit and carry crisp detail that an injection mold cannot manage. The extent of the set and the placement of the individual parts on the model are described in the manufacturer's instructions.

Building and painting tips

Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard base; never break them out with your fingers. Level the remnant of the holder after separation with a fine file. Lead the bends in a bender or between two metal rulers so that the edge comes out straight along its whole length. It is glued with super glue applied drop by drop on the tip of a toothpick. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and apply a primer meant for metal surfaces, or the layer will peel off during handling.

For modelers who want to take a model of the F-15C beyond the level of the box contents and are not afraid of working with small metal parts. Unless stated otherwise, this is a separate accessory set and the kit, paints and glue are supplied separately.
