A resin interior set for the Messerschmitt Me 262A in 1:72 scale from CMK. It replaces the cockpit of the base kit and is meant for models finished with the canopy slid open.

This is an accessory, not an aircraft model. The resin interior goes into an Me 262A kit you have already bought, in place of the plastic cockpit. On this type the swap is worth it mainly because the cockpit sits high and the canopy is largely made up of flat panels of clear material — you can see inside from the side as well as from above, and the simplified tub from the kit has nowhere to hide.
Unlike the plastic part, the cast cockpit has three-dimensional side walls, raised relief on the instrument panel and the controls, and a seat with a shape that cannot be made in an injection mold. The modeler gets a basis that only needs painting and accentuating; there is nothing to add from wire and plastic strip. Check the exact contents of the package against the instructions in the box.
Wash the castings in warm soapy water. Cut the casting block under the cockpit off with a saw or a cutting disc and level the surface by sanding on a firm support; protect your airways when sanding resin. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Always dry-fit the cockpit before the fuselage is glued together — with resin interiors it is normal to have to sand down internal ribs or fuselage walls so that the halves come together without strain. Start the painting with a primer, then a dark interior shade over the whole area, bring out the details with a dry brush and finish the instrument panel with a drop of gloss clear coat where the dials are, so that the glass catches the light.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
