A set of four MER-7 multiple ejector racks for hanging aircraft bombs under a pylon, in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
MER is the abbreviation for multiple ejector rack, that is a rack hung under the pylon of an aircraft that allows several bombs to be carried on one hardpoint. Without it, an aircraft would lift only as many bombs as it has pylons. That is exactly why the rack is seen so often in period photographs of combat aircraft, and why it is conspicuously missing from the armament of a model when only the bombs themselves are added.
The package contains four pieces of the MER-7 rack in 1:72 scale. The parts are supplied as finished replacement parts for completing the external stores of a model; they are simply glued to the kit in place of the pylon or beneath it, following the real thing.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest smooth. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. It is practical to paint both the rack and the bombs before gluing them together, because once the bombs are in place you will reach the rack with neither brush nor airbrush. While gluing, watch that the rack hangs parallel with the axis of the aircraft and that the bombs are not tilted; asymmetrically hung armament shows on a finished model at first glance. The particular procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The model, the bombs, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
