Masks for the Bf 109E-3 in 1:72 scale (Peewit) are die-cut self-adhesive templates. The box states them for AZ model kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
Note that this is not an aircraft model but a set of masking templates for the glazing. The box states that the set is cut for AZ model kits, which matters with masks: the shape of the cockpit canopy differs between kits of the same type and a mask from another set need not fit. The Czech brand Peewit makes die-cut self-adhesive masks for plastic models, typically for canopy frames and for wheels.
The Bf 109E, nicknamed Emil, was the version with which the Luftwaffe entered the Second World War. The E-3 form had a Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine and armament in the wing as well as above the engine, and it was precisely in this shape that the aircraft met the British fighters over France and Britain. The angular canopy with many frames is typical of the Emil and differs substantially from the later versions, so a mask for the G cannot be used on an E.
Lay the masks onto clean and degreased glazing and press them down with a wooden stick or tweezers so that paint does not run under the edge. Spray the frames in the interior color first and only then in the external camouflage. Apply the paint in several thin coats; a heavy coat tears when the mask is lifted. Lift the mask while the paint has only set, not cured. With German schemes of 1940 count on hard edges between the shades and on the fact that the yellow features only come out over a light base.
The set holds masks only. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
