The kit will appeal to beginners as well as to experienced collectors looking for the typical profile of the slender Emil.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E was one of the main single-seat fighters of the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain in 1940. It was powered by the inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 601 with direct fuel injection, which made it possible to fly maneuvers under negative g without interrupting the fuel supply. The E-4 version differed from the earlier E-1 and E-3 above all in the improved 20mm MG FF/M wing cannon and in the new unbulged canopy, which improved the pilot's view.
Before gluing, clean the sprue nubs off the parts carefully and dry-fit the fuselage to the wings. A liquid polystyrene cement, a primer and airbrush spraying are the way to go. On the Emil the contrast between the typical camouflage of the upper surfaces and the blue-gray underside stands out; bring out the panel lines gently with a wash. Outline the canopy frames with masking tape for clean edges. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
