Eduard 1:72 Messerschmitt Bf-109G-4 cockpit PRINT is a 3D-printed resin replacement for the cockpit of a model of the G-4 version in 1:72 scale. It is a detail accessory, not a model of the aircraft.

This accessory from the Czech manufacturer Eduard replaces the inside of the cockpit of the Messerschmitt Bf-109G-4 fighter in 1:72 scale with 3D-printed resin parts. It is the cockpit that decides the impression a finished model makes, because it is visible under the clear canopy and plastic parts in a small scale tend to be softly shaped. Printing allows sharper frames, levers and an instrument panel. The set is fitted into a plastic model under construction and is not a standalone model of the aircraft.
The Bf 109G-4 followed on from the G-2 version at the turn of 1942 and 1943. The engine stayed the same, the Daimler-Benz DB 605A inverted V12, and the changes concerned mainly the equipment. The G-4 received a more powerful radio set and wider main wheels, which made it necessary to form the characteristic bulges on the upper surface of the wing. Aircraft of this version flew on the Eastern Front and in the Mediterranean, and some of them were adapted for reconnaissance duties. The differences between the G-2 and the G-4 carry over into the equipment of the cockpit too, which is why Eduard offers both versions as separate sets, and it is worth choosing the one matching the aircraft you are building.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry through. Separate them from the print supports with a sharp cut in small steps. Try the fit dry before you close the fuselage and take any overhang off with a thin file. Super glue handles the fitting. Paint before joining the fuselage: after spraying the base shade use a dark wash into the recesses and bring out the edges with a dry brush. It is worth going over the dial faces with a drop of gloss clear at the end.
